The scene is the main house and guest house of Bob’s studio on Highway 47 looking south.
The main (old Shoaf Barn) studio building was built in 1808, Bob remodeled it with three stories and over 4000 square feet in 1989.
The original barn was moved across town from Highway 64 near where Highway 64 crosses under Highway 52. It was the homeplace of Jimmy Shoaf’s family. The guest house was built ca. 1776-1780 on the northern end of Davidson Country. It too was moved from its original location to Bob’s studio grounds in 1987.
